High Disdain Is Strong Tauherenikau Prospect

“The Press” Special Service

WELLINGTON.

Last year’s winner, High Disdain, makes most appeal in a large field for the Easter Handicap, first leg of the Wairarapa Racing Club’s T.A.B. double today.

High Disdain weakened and finished unplaced at Waipukurau after starting what seemed a winning run. His jockey had to stop riding when High Disdain started to run in, but the horse also seemed to be a little above himself. The track must be firm for High Disdain. Probably it will be today. There was heavy rain on Saturday night and early yesterday morning, but the weather cleared and there has been a drying wind. Lei meets Kintyre 71b worse in the Tauherenikau Handicap than when she beat him over almost a furlong less on Saturday, but Lei was going away and should win again at the longer distance.
