SATURDAY (Before Messrs F. W. Zimmerman and J. C. Cottrell, Justices of the Peace) REMANDED Allison Stella Watson, aged 21, Lisa Anne Curtis, aged 19, and Jearina Martin aged 19, domestics, were remanded in custody to April 14 on joint charges of breaking out of a penal institution with violence and theft On Thursday the three accused were convicted on charges of being found on board a ship without lawful excuse, and were remanded in custody for probation officers’ reports and sentence. OBSTRUCTED FOOTPATH Paul Michael Glasson, aged 19, a wool store worker, was fined £lO on a charge of obstructing the footpath in Cathedral square on Friday. He pleaded guilty. Brian Michael O’Connor, aged 19, a linoleum layer, was fined £7 on a charge of obstructing the footpath in Cathedral square on Thursday evening. He pleaded guilty. FINED £2O Gordon Edward Tait, aged 28, was fined £2O on a charge of behaving in a disorderly manner. BEGGING CHARGE Harold Herbert Baxter, aged 57, a gardener, was remanded in custody to April 14 for sentence on a charge of being idle and disorderly in that he begged for money. He pleaded guilty.
