N.Z. Brass Bands’ Association

The New Zealand Brass Bands’ Association elected Mr P. M. Brooker (Wellington) president at its annual meeting. Mr Brooker was treasurer of the 1965 National Band of New Zealand. He replaces Mr E. Ormrod (Wellington), who has been president for the last three years. The meeting recorded a vote of appreciation for the services given to the association by Mr Ormrod. Other officers elected were: Vice-presidents, Messrs J. F. Allen (Wellington) and M. F. S. Blackie (Invercargill): management committee, Messrs L. Thome (Auckland). C. D. Smith (Hamilton), N. G. Goffin (Wellington). R. Simpson and J. Rafferty (Christchurch) and I. Still (Dunedin).

Canterbury Jce Skating Club.—Officers elected at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Ice Skating Club were: Patrons. Messrs J. K. McAlpine, M.P., and S. J. Moore: president Mr A. M. Grafton: vice-president Mr J. Buchanan: secretary-treasur-er. Mrs A. Hearn: hon. auditor. Mr H. A. Allchurch: committee. Messrs D. Hearn. C. G. Buchanan. W. A. Weakley, Mesdames F. Miles and D Grafton: delegates to New Zealand Ice Skating Association. Miss W. Grafton and Mr A. M. Grafton; delegates to Canterbury Ice Skating Association, Mr Allehurch, Miss W. Grafton and Mr A. M ! Grafton.
