Strong Cantabrian
A powerful combination has been chosen to represent the Cantabrians against an Otago Invitation XV at Dunedin on Anzac Day, April 25.
Canterbury will play West Coast on Anzac Day and the Cantabrians have, as a consequence, selected a large number of North Otago, South Canterbury and Mid-Canter-bury players. I. S. T. Smith (North Otago) is the only All Black in the Cantabrian side and G. Waterreus (Canterbury) is a New Zealand Maori All Black. R. Vercoe and R. Dench (South Canterbury) and R. Barber (North Otago) are South Island representatives while K. G. McGregor (North Otago) has been a South Island reserve. C. R. Hockley and B. Smither (Canterbury) are
both New Zealand Universities representatives, while B. J. Teen (South Canterbury) has played for New Zealand Marist. The Cantabrians team Is:—
G. Waterreus (Canterbury); J. S. T. Smith (North Otago), P. Hatchwell (Canterbury). B. J. Teen (South Canterbury); A. Farrell (Mid-Canterbury), B. McLean (Canterbury); K. G.
