GOLF ASSN. PRESIDENT
Mr A. D. Russell, delegate from Amberley to the Canterbury Provincial Golf Association, was elected association president at its annual meeting.
A member of the management committee since 1960, Mr Russell began playing golf in 1950.
He has been on the Amberley committee since >1952 and was president from 1953-55. The club, which died out during World War 11, was started again in 1946 on his property. Mr Russell is a farmer and has a golf handicap of eight.
