BUILDING IN RANGIORA

Increase In Permits

The value of building permits issued in the Rangiora Borough during the first quarter of 1966 showed a substantial increase over the value of permits issued during the corresponding quarter last year. During the first three months of this year permits to the value of £64,071 have been issued—an increase of more than 46 per cent on the permits issued during the same three months of 1965, which totalled £43,303 in value.

During March seven permits were issued for new houses. These included a block of two flats. Seven permits for other new buildings were also issued. Nine permits were issued for alterations to existing buildings, the total value being £32,339. Last March permits for four new houses and four for other new buildings, and nine for alterations to existing buildings were issued. These amounted to a total value of £17,254, which, though well above the £5586 for the previous March, was still considerably below last month’s value.
