FIVE ARE SUSPENDED

League Men Sent Off (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The New Zealand Maori representative, S. Yates, was one of five players suspended by the Auckland Rugby League board of control last evening. Yates was suspended for three playing Saturdays after being ordered off while playing for Otahuhu against Pt. Chevalier at Cariaw Park last Saturday. Four other players, all from the premier reserve grade, received suspensions from between two and three weeks. Mr C. R. Mountford will be recommended by the New Zealand Rugby League Council to replace the retiring secretary, Mr E. J. Knowling. The recommendation will be made to the annual meeting of the New Zealand League next week. Mr Mountford is at present the national advisory coach. He would retain this position in conjunction with his secretarial duties.
