Farm Brings £32,100

A cropping and fattening property of 308 acres three roods at Hororata, owned by G. V. Rivers and Company, Ltd., was sold for £32,100 after being passed in at ; £31,801 at public auction yesterday. The sale was held by Dalgety and New Zealand Loan Ltd., acting in conjunction with the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr F. Carpenter. Buildings on the land, which is subdivided into 24 paddocks, include the homestead of a storey and a half in Derretts road, and an older-style house in Haldon road. Other improvements include a woolshed, tractor and implement sheds, cowshed, hay barn, and sheepyards. The opening bid was £BO an acre. There were four bids of £2 10s and 13 of £1 before the property was passed in at £lO3 an acre.
