ISSUE OF WARRANTS
Investigation Called
He had called for a meeting for the executive officers so there could be a proper investigation, said Cr. L. G. Amos, chairman of the City Council’s traffic committee, yesterday, commenting on allegations at the Paparua County Council’s meeting that warrants of fitness were issued to defective vehicles by the main testing station. “While the human element always comes into these things; my view is that there will be a general tightening up on the issue of warrants,” Cr. Amos said. The whole matter would be ventilated at the next meeting of the committee, when the Traffic Superintendent (Mr J. F. Thomas) would report on an investigation of the alleged cases.
