marked degree is Mrs M. Hodgson, of Auckland, who passed through Christchurch recently. In her competitive days in Dunedin, as Miss Mayzod Reid, she built up a reputation which few women divers in the Dominion have approached. She won her first Otago title at the age of 10 and went on to capture New Zealand titles in the junior, intermediate and senior classes. She won the senior championship in 1946-4748, and took part in the Empire Games in Auckland in 1950. In Auckland, Mrs Hodgson is a member of the diving panel and a diving delegate to the Auckland Swimming Centre. She is also a coach and judge in secondary schools’ diving and her youngest child, Derick, aged seven, is showing promise in the sport.
