MANAGEMENT COURSES

Division Extends Premises

Because of the expansion of its membership and its course work, the Canterbury division of the New Zealand Institute of Management has had to increase its accommodation.

In 19545, the division held five courses for which there were 242 enrolments: in 1961 courses had risen to 15 with 457 enrolments: in 1966 there will be 45 courses and the budget is for 1100 enrolments. Included in this year’s programme is the basic management course which will run for 120 hours—more than three times as long as any course previou®'y attempted, j To cope with this extra activity alterations have been made at the converted house at 100 Chester street which is the headquarters of the division. Upstairs are the offices of the manager (Mr R. E. Glensor) and the executive officer (Mr V. C. Lazelil), the general office, and the library, which has been extended to the rear. Downstairs the floor space of the present committee room has been trebled to provide a second conference room to enable two courses to be run simultaneously. Behind the second conference (room has been built a new (kitchen and servery.
