MR C. BROWN fN.Z. Preus Autonation) NEW PLYMOUTH. April 4 A former All Black and one of Taranaki's highly regarded players and coaches. Mr Charles Brown, died at New Plymouth on Saturday, aged 78. He represented New Zealand in 1913 and 1920, playing a total of 11 matches, and was captain of the 1919 New Zealand Army team which toured South Africa. Mr Brown’s career as a Taranaki representative extended from 1909 until 1922. He represented New Zealand as a half-back, but also played in the front row at club and provincial level. He coached the Tukapa senior team from early 1920 until 1939 and was a Taranaki and North Island selector in that time. His association with the Tukapa club extended over 50 years, and at the time of his death he was a life member of the chib and its patron. MR H. S. ADAMS (N.Z Press Association) DUNEDIN, April 4 A former Crown solicitor in Dunedin and a member of a well-known legal family, Mr H. S. Adams, died in Dunedin today. He was a brother of a former Judge. Sir Francis Adams, of Christchurch, and a son of the late Mr Justice A. S. Adams. When Mr H. S. Adams retired as Crown solicitor in Dunedin in 1962 he ended a 43-year-old association his family had had with the position in Dunedin. Both his father and brother had held the position before him.
