STILL NO TRACE
Girl Missing In Auckland (N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 4. Police are still trying to locate a missing Devonport girl, Lesley Margaret Soutter, aged 19. “Several reported sightings have proved negative,” Detec-tive-Inspector J. A. McCarthy, who is in charge of the inquiry, said today. Miss Soutter disappeared last Tuesday after being excused for a short time from her employment in a Queen street coffee bar. She is Scottish-born and she spent several years in Gisborne, returned to Britain with her parents and then came back to New Zealand as an assisted immigrant about eight and a half months ago. The police consider her disappearance wholly out of char'acter
All her persoral effects, including about £2O which is believed to be her savings, were left at her lodgings in Mays road, Devonport. She was planning to marry a seaman —ho left the country some weeks ago. Miss Soutter is sft sin tall, of medium build with long, fair hair usually worn upswept. She was wearing a grey skirt and jumper and grey duffle coat when last seen. She wears spectacles.
