Meeting Called In Auckland (N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 4. A meeting to promote the construction of navigable canals from the Waikato river to the Manukau harbour will be held in Otahuhu on April 13. It will be called by the chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, Mr R. C. Savory, as convener of the Canal Investigating Committee formed at a public meeting in Hamilton in November Among those expected to be present are the Minister of Marine (Mr Scott) and representatives of the Ministry of Works, the Marine Department, the Waikato Valley Authority, the Auckland Regional Authority, the Raglan. Franklin and Waikato county councils, the Hamilton and Otahuhu city councils, the iron and steel industry and Federated Farmers.
