An urgent request will be made by the Paparua County Council to the Minister of Works to realign the junction of the Main South road and Foremans road. Middleton, the scene of a fatal accident recently. At last night’s council meeting, Cr.R. S. Mayer said that in addition to the fatal accidents there had been 15 accidents involving injury on the corner. “It has concerned me that we have had no reply to our request to the Ministry of Works made 12 months ago. that Foremans road be realigned,” said the Engineer (Mr A. Dyhrberg). “I have just been told there is £5OO on the estimates. The approach from Foremans road will be at a right angle. For our part, we are asked to close that part of the road where it joins the highway at an angle.” If the corner was left, it would continue to be a very bad h a the hazard, said Mr Dyhrberg.
