ATTEMPTING SUICIDE
Drove Through Red Light (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright? SYDNEY, April 4. A man said he was trying to commit suicide when he drove his car at 60 m.p.h. through red traffic lights yesterday and seriously injured a woman passenger in another car, police said today. The injured woman, Doreen Weston, was admitted to Canterbury Hospital suffering from injuries to the head and body. The driver of the car in which she was a passenger, Mr Charles Diamond, escaped injury. The man, who said he was trying to commit suicide, escaped injury. He was later taken to Parramatta Psychiatric Centre. Police said that they were not able to say what action would be taken against the man until they had received a report.
