Bus Service
Sir, People attending church should remember that the Transport Board is compelled to meet higher costs in providing a Sunday service. Much of its revenue comes from the ratepayers who over the last 10 years have paid £1 million pounds or more to maintain the present timetable at a reasonable charge to the public. Almost every family now owns a motor-car and it should not be a difficult matter for church officers to arrange transport for their members, as do other groups where, in many cases, any proceeds are paid into a common fund for the benefit of the group.— Yours, etc., CLUB MEMBER. April 4, 1966.
