THE MOLESWORTH ROUTE.—This aerial photograph, taken from above 7000ft, shows a view north over the Acheron valley of the route which the power line from Benmore takes to Cook Strait. The Molesworth route to Blenheim and Nelson, at present barred by a padlocked chain across a concrete bridge over the Clarence river, passes through the valley. The Canterbury Progress League has supported an application by the Amuri County Council to have the road reopened. It is believed that the area has considerable tourist potential.
