Rangiora County
Sir, —The Rangiora Borough Council’s contention, reported in today’s issue, that it is supplying Rangiora County ratepayers with cheap water, is answered, I think, by the remarks of a member of the Local Government Commission when it met local body representatives a short while ago. When told by the borough council that Is 9d a thousand gallons was the price received, he exclaimed, “Making money,” and he then went on to say that where he came from they got 7d or Bd. By the way, is not the Rangiora Borough Council lucky to be able to discharge its sewerage effluent in the Rangiora county?—Yours, etc. OBSERVER. March 26, 1966.
