Rhodes Can Bowl

The Derbyshire pace bowler Harold Rhodes—the first man to come before the M.C.C.’s “throwing” court—was cleared on Friday to bowl for the coming season.
A nine-man jury, after studying films and medical evidence, and after an outdoor demonstration, unanimously judged his basic action to be fair.
But they were split on whether or not his action was “occasionally suspect.”
