Methven Beef Competition
L. P. Chapman, of Mount Som ers, won the annual beef-cuts competition run by the Methven Agricultural and Pastoral Association and judged at the Belfast works of Thomas Borthwick and Sons this week. Results were:— L. P. Chapman, Aberdeen Angus, aged 18. months. 1; J. R. Todhunter. Aberdeen Angus, aged 20 months. 2: estate A. A. Lowe, Aberdeen Angus, aged 18 months, 3: Winchmore Irri gation Research Station. Aberdeen Angus, aged 18 months, v.h.c, A lamb competition was judged at the North Canterbury Farmers' Freezing Company, Kaiapoi. Results were:— Lamb, most suitable for the pre-cut trade: G. J. Mangin. 1: I. A. Hart, 2; T. N. Currie 3 and v.h.c. Three lambs. 421 b or under: G. A. and G. D. Rountree 1. Three lambs, 361 b or suitable for export: I. A. Mangin 1.
