Tax Study
(N.Z. Press Association) WANGANUI, March 24. A foundation composed of members drawn from industry, commerce, Government and universities should review New Zealand’s taxation system, the president of the Accountants’ Society (Mr H. G. West) advocated at the annual meeting in Wanganui.
Mr West said that the country’s annual tax bill now exceeded £3OO million. He contended that the cost of the taxation review should be born by industry. “Such a foundation would need to be completely independent and would be occupied fulltime for a period, possibly years,” he said.
