Obituary
SISTER M. AGNES Sister Mary Agnes, nee Burgess, of the Sisters of Mercy Convent, Lyttelton, died at Calvary Hospital recently. Born in Braxton, New South Wales, Sister Mary Agnes entered the Lyttelton convent in 1914, Four years later she began teaching at the Roman Catholic School in Methven where she remained for many years.
Sister Mary Agnes was then transferred to Rakaia, returning to Lyttelton in the 19305.
