SCHOOL SHOW AT LEESTON
More than 1200 entries were received for the annual flower show of the Leeston Consolidated School and an excellent display included cut flowers, decorative exhibits, vegetables, fruit, cooking, handwork and sewing. The judges were: cut flowers, Mrs I. V. O’Boyle; decorative Mrs Mawson; vegetables, Mr F. Gilbert; fruit, Mr D. Pringle (science adviser of the Education Department); cooking, Mrs D. A. Love: handwork, Mr H. D. Baylis; sewing, Miss A. Brizzle. At the conclusion produce was auctioned to assist the school funds.
