Service
A philatelic service for first flight covers to be carried on inaugural flights from Auckland to Mexico City on March 28 and from Auckland to Brisbane on April 4 has been announced by the Post Office
Covers will be accepted for one-way dispatch or for return to New Zealand addresses Special date-stamps will be used and all covers will be back-stamped on arrival at both destinations. Those bearing New Zealand addresses will be dispatched by a return flight.
The covers should be addressed. have the correct postage affixed, and must be forwarded under cover to the Chief Postmaster. Auckland The outer wrapping or cover must be endorsed “Covers for carriage on inaugural flight to (place) on (date).”
The postage rate for unsealed covers sent on the Mexico City flight is Is 2d for one-way mail and 2s 4d for return mail, and the covers should be at Auckland by March 25. The flight is byQantas.
The Brisbane flight is byAir New Zealand, and rates ar? 7d for one-way mail and Is 2d for return mail. Covers should be at Auckland byApril 1.
