New Britten Opera
A new opera for church performance by Benjamin Britten, “The Burning Fiery Furnace,” will be performed for the first time on June ,9 at the Aldeburgh Festival, by the English Opera Group. The company plans to present it later in Southwark Cathedral and possibly in Holland and Belgium.
The libretto was taken from the Book of Daniel by William Plomer.
