TWO GIRLS ASSAULTED
Enticed Into Car
Two girls, aged eight and 10, were enticed into a car in Manchester street last evening by a man aged about 20 They were driven to near a golf links in the Burwood district and indecently assaulted.
Detectives asked any person who saw a small, cream coloured car in the Burwood area between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. to get in touch with the C. 1.8. at the Christchurch Central police station. The two girls were out for a ride on their bicycles. The man enticed them into the car by asking them to show him the way to some place The girls were in the ear about an hour. The car was in a rough, dusty road in Burwood. The man returned them to Manchester street.
The girls were picked up by Jhe man about 6.50 p.m. In Iquiries are proceeding.
