PARIS, March 22.
Paris and much of France today awaited a plunge into darkness.
An estimated 100,000 electrical workers and 7000 gas employees were to walk off the job at 9 p.m. today in a 24-hour protest strike against President de Gaulle’s austerity wage programme.
