Narbada-Kintyre Win Masterton Double

MASTERTON. The Wellington-owned and trained Kintyre gave W. D. Skelton his fourth win from five starts at Opaki yesterday when he fought back in determined fashion to hold off Tracey in the second leg of the Masterton Racing Club’s double, the Waimana Handicap. Narbada, the winner of the first leg, the Wattie Gold Cup, scored her first win for 13 months when she finished brilliantly to an easy win. The double paid £59 Ils for £l. On-course the totallsator handled £26,578. which was £15,140 10s down on last year when the meeting was held on a Saturday. Off-eourse betting was £89,996 15s, £18,760 5s down on last year.
