The phenomenal growth in the Bay of Plenty over recent weeks was responsible for what could be • new Tauranga club cricket record—eight runs off one ball—on Saturday. Playing in the Tauranga Cricket Association’s A grade competition, a Midland batsman and Bay of Plenty representative, C. Fox, hit a ball into the outfield on Blake Park, Mount Maunganui. While Mount Maunganui fieldsmen were searching feverishly through the footlong grass Fox and his partner ran the eight runs.
