Brothers Named In Softball Teams
The three Chee brothers have been included in the two softball teams to represent Canterbury A and B for the remainder of the season. B. Chee and C. Chee have been included in the Canterbury A team to meet Southland in the Jeffries Cup challengt at Invercargill on March 12 and against Otago at Christchurch on March 26. The promising pitcher, D. Chee, will represent Canterbury B against Otago on March 26. He has also been included in the colts team to play at Invercargill against Otago, Southland, Hutt Valley and Wellington at Invercargill on March 7,8, and 9.
Three Clarkson brothers have also gained representative honours —G. Clarkson for Canterbury A; L. Clarkson for Canterbury B and M. Clarkson for Canterbury colts. The Chee brothers and the Clarkson brothers all play for Papanui. Papanui has 10 players in
the two senior teams, the same number as the other three senior clubs combined. The teams are:— Canterbury A: K. Smith 'Richmond), B. Waine (Papanui). G. Clarks-on (Papanui), B Chee (Papanui), C. Chee (Papanui), N. Hobson (Western Suburbs). M. R. Napier (Avon), E. Noonan (Richmond, vice-captain), 1. Pol lock (Papanui) and P. Joyce (Richmond).
Canterbury B; M. Reid (Papa nui), D. Chee (Papanui). M. Nelapa (Richmond, captain), R McKenzie (Avon). M. Skerrett (Papanui). D. Philips (Papa nui), G. Woods (Richmond, x ice captain), L. Clarkson (Papanui) and A. Wilson (Western Sub urbs).
Colts: Reid, R. Storer (Rich mond). D. Edwards (Avon), Skerrett, I. Peterson (Avon*, PhlMips, J. Scott (Western Sub urbs, captain). M. Clarkson. R Mountford (Richmond), R Bart ley (Avon), D. Chee end Me Kenzie.
The coach will be Mr R. Mur shaft.
