SHIPS IN COLLISION

Blown By Wind

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 28.

The 3222-ton Union Steam Ship Company’s freighter Karepo struck the bulk carrier Wandby, causing slight damage to both ships, as she was being shifted from Wynyard wharf to King’s wharf, Auckland, today. The 11,545-ton Wandby was alongside Wynyard wharf discharging phosphate when the Karepo, under the guidance of two Auckland Harbour Board tugs, was blown into her by the strong easterly wind. The Auckland Harbourmaster, Captain R. H. Carter, said tonight he expected to receive a report on the damage caused by the collision tomorrow morning.
