Tech. Hopes Receding
The possibility of a promo-tion-relegation game in Christchurch senior cricket this season has receded with the defeat of Technical Old Boys in the second grade A competition. West Christchurch-Univer-sity—which has a team in the senior grade—appears certain to win the competition. With two matches to play, it has a lead of about 30 points. Technical Old Boys has played in the promotion-rele-gation match for the last three seasons, but needed to win outright last Saturday to retain a chance of success. After declaring twice, the side was beaten by Lancaster Park by one wicket on the stroke of time.
