Senior Cricket
Sir,—l think the Canterbury Cricket Association chairman’s comments on your sports editor’s commonsense articles on club play this Saturday most unfair. The fact that the association compels play to take place occasions no surprise among enthusiasts, as its decision is a fair indication of the level of its thinking on a great many subjects relating to the so-called betterment of the game. (Labour Day club play, promotion and relegation spring readily to mind). However, Mr Brittenden could console himself with the I knowledge that he only has I to write about the associa-! tion: as a semi-active cric-| keter 1 have to abide by it!—j Yours, etc.. PETER J. LOW. I February 9, 1966. 1
