CADETS FOR FARMS
Training Offer Accepted (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 27. The Government has accepted an offer by Federated Farmers to run a national farm cadet training scheme which was outlined in a recommendation of the Agricultural Development Conference.
The Government has agreed to help to meet administrative costs by contributing £25 a cadet for each year of training.
The Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) described the scheme as a commendable effort at self-help by tije farming industry. On-farm training will be provided for selected boys on selected farms—about 200 boys this year, rising to a maximum later of 500 boys entering training as soon as they are available at the end of the school year.
