A.A.C. Manager Going On Study Tour

An overseas study tour will be undertaken later this year by the general manager of the Automobile Association (Canterbury), Mr E. S. Palliser.

Mr Palliser will leave in April to spend three months in Canada, the United States, Britain and Europe. On his way back to New Zealand he will visit Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia.

The purpose of the trip is to study the operations of kindred motoring organisations in other countries, the services they offer to their members. and how the organisations are administered. Mr Palliser will study traffic development and make contacts with officials of

motoring organisations. He will also represent the New Zealand Automobile Association at a conference of the Alliance Internationale de Tourism in the United States. The conference will last about a week. Last year it was held in France, and the New Zealand associations were represented by the assistant secretary of the Wellington Automobile Association (Mr L. Brown). The council of the Canterbury association decided at a meeting last year that Mr Palliser should undertake the study tour. He will make a comprehensive report to the council when he returns. His detailed itinerary has not yet been completed.
