Parun Reaches 2nd Round

Parun of New Zealand reached the second round of the junior boys’ singles when he outlasted his Australian opponent at the Australian tennis championships yesterday. He beat H. Osborn-Brown, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 in a match which was even longer than the scores suggest. Shirley Collins and June Elliott, two other New Zealanders, lost their junior girls’ doubles match to Therese Mackay and Denise Brennan, 6-2, 7-5.
