Chapple May Miss Game
(New Zealand Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. A painful back injury may prevent the Central Districts captain, M. E. Chapple, from playing in the Plunket Shield match against Canterbury, which starts at Pukekura Park, New' Plymouth, today.
Chapple was troubled by the complaint in the match against Auckland, which finished on Wednesday,
He received treatment on his arrival at New Plymouth
yesterday but afterwards said it was “fairly doubtful” that he would be playing today. Should he not play, B. E. Congdon would take over the captaincy of the Central team, and the twelfth man, I. R. Hampton, would play in Chapple’s place. W. T. Murdock would be twelfth man. The teams will be selected from:—
