Oil Shares Recover (Special Crspdt. N.Z.PA I LONDON, Dec. 30. Shares in a number of sections began to trade better yesterday, spurred by British Petroleum’s announcement that the Sea Gem mishap will only delay its programme by a few months. Oils shares sold well, with a 7}d upswing in B.P. Steel Firmer Among other improved sections. insurances registered a number of useful gains: steels, too, were a shade harder. In spite of these movements, however, there was Little activity. Few investors showed any inclination to trade. Generally, stock markets resumed business this week on an extremely quiet note. What little business there was came mainly from buyers. Interest in the immediate future is likely to centre on the usual New Year predictions and the occasional item erf company news, of which the coming annual bank dividends will be the most important.
