A girl who travelled in, the freighter Hudson Deep from Auckland to Fiji and back was convicted in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland today on a charge of being idle and disorderly.

The girl, Tarcissia Broughten, aged 19, pleaded guilty before Mr H. Jenner Wily, S.M., and was remanded in custody until Wednesday for sentence.

Sergeant D. F. Henderson said Broughton admitted boarding the ship at Auckland on December 10 and staying on it until December 15 when it sailed for Fiji. Customs authorities in Fiji found her and returned her in the ship back to Auckland.

Broughton said she had a boy friend on board the ship. Sergeant Henderson said Broughten, who had no money, had not worked since September. -
