VIENNA, Dec. 29.
About 3000 youths rioted in front and inside St. James’s Church in Prague on Christmas Eve, the Czech, news agency C.T.K. reported today. C.T.K. quoted the Prague newspaper “Lidova Demokracie” as saying that 10 of them were brought before a police court and ordered to pay large fines. Two refused to pay and would be brought before national committees which also have court functions.
The parish priest said the midnight mass was proceeding quietly “when about 3000 young people tried to excite disturbances, penetrate into the church and stop the service.”
