Liverpool Avenges Defeat By Leeds

Liverpool kept its lead at the head of the English first division soccer table when it gained a quick revenge over Leeds United on Tuesday. Leeds won, 1-0, at Liverpool on Monday, but in the return game Liverpool played smooth, attacking football and fully deserved its victory, also by 1-0. Burnley tightened its hold on second place, two points behind Liverpool, when it mastered Stoke City, 4-1.
Frost again badly affected the programme and 18 league matches were postponed.
