MONDAY (Befores Messrs A. R. Chambers and H. E. Wright, Justices of the Peace.) ASSAULT A surveying labourer, Raymond Grein, aged 37, was fined £3 on a charge of assault. He pleaded guilty to striking his landlady while he was under the influence of drink. OBSCENE LANGUAGE
Alan Godfrey Leggett, aged 20, a labourer, pleaded guilty to a charge of using obscene language in a public place. He was fined £7 10s. TRESPASS
A man, whose name was suppressed, pleaded guilty to a charge of wilful trespass. He was fined £lO. UNLAWFULLY ON PROPERTY
Hector Douglas Dickson, aged 62, a pensioner, and Edward Raymond Kelleher, aged 36, a miner, were each fined £2 on a charge on being unlawfully on private property. Sergeant P. J. Alty said the defendants were found at the back of a Madras street business. They had a bottle of wine and six empty bottles with them. REMANDED
The following were remanded on bail to December 31: David Malcolm Barbour, aged 41. a spray painter, on a charge of stealing a radio: Brian Andrew Watterus, aged 30, garage attendant, on charges of assault and of being found without lawful excuse on private property: Kerry John Moriarty, aged 17, a carpenter, on charges of driving in a dangerous manner and using obscene language; Leslie James March, aged 20, unemployed, on a charge of driving while disqualified. On a charge of being idle and disorderly, Michael Albert Edwards, aged 17, unemployed, was remanded in custody ito December 31.
