Liner’s Deck Remodelled
The Shaw Savill tourist liner Southern Cross will have a new feature when she arrives at Wellington about January 12. Her forward observation deck was remodelled before she left Britain.
The remodelling has provided a new room, the “Seahorse” room, complete with bar, and a 200 sq ft observation deck.
The sunbathing lido is transformed into the Seahorse room by the use of electrically-controlled roller shutters. Panels are also raised from below deck to form interior walls, There is subdued lighting and recorded music for dancing.
