ONE-MONTH TOUR
Soviet Top Coach (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The chief Russian athletics coach, Mr Gavriel Korobkov, will arrive in Auckland today on the start of a one-month New Zealand tour. Mr Korobkov, who regularly heads the Soviet contingent to the Olympic and U.S.S.R. v. U.S.A, games, will spend the first 10 days of his stay at the young athletes’ training course at Trentham, which starts bn Tuesday. He will be chief instructor to 30 chosen field events exponents. Mr Korobkov, whose trip is being organised by the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Coaches’ Association and sponsored by the Rothmans Sports Foundation, will also hold training clinics throughout the country.
