AUSTRALIAN TROOPS
Assurance On Backing
(NZ. Press Assn.—Copyright) SAIGON, Dec. 23.
The commander of Australian Army forces in Vietnam. Brigadier 0. D. Jackson, told the troops in a Christmas message today: “With the exception of a handful of uninformed and misguided individuals, Australians at home are behind you all the way.” In his message Brigadier Jackson said: “There is no longer any doubt that we are going to win this conflict. “How long it will take > pends on our own efforts, the efforts of those with whom we fight, and the speed with which the Communists realise that they are not going to impose their will on the people of South Vietnam.”
