SCHOOL BUS ACCIDENTS
Legal Help Restricted (N.Z. Prut AMoetaHon) WELLINGTON, Dec. 18. Teachers ebarged with an offence arising out of driving a school bus would not receive help from the Teachers* Legal Assistance Fund, the Educational Institute’s Secretary, Mr E. J. Simmonds, said today. There was a small percenttage of teacher-drivers working mainly in the more remote rural areas. District education boards which once strongly favoured teacherdriving were now against the scheme, said Mr Simmonds. Non-teaching school bus drivers would also have to pay for and conduct their own case in the event of facing a charge arising out of their duty.
