No Steering Or Brakes
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 19. A woman motorist found herself driving without steering or brakes on the motorway half a mile south of the Tawa turn-off on the Johnsonville highway soon after 9 am. yesterday. Her small rental car crashed into a bank and was wrecked. The driver, Miss F. Hartnell, and Miss M. Hapuku both of Waipukurau, suffered facial lacerations. Mr A. Purdie, of Porirua East, suffered facial lacerations and concussion. He was admitted to hospital, where his condition this afternoon was satisfactory.
