Britons Pay £94Bm Tax (Special Crzpdt. N.Z.P.AJ LONDON, Dec. 19. Customs and excise revenue swelled to a massive £3471 million—£4os million more than last year—because Britons are smoking and drinking more, says the Customs Department’s annual report. Tobacco was the best source of revenue, accounting for £948 million, or 31 per cent of the total. Alcoholic drinks contributed £575 mBMon, which was £76 million more than the year before.
