O’Neill Hits Solid 80

O’Neill, fighting to regain his place In the Australian test team, scored a solid 80 against South Australia on the second day of a Sheffield Shield match at Adelaide on Saturday. But the test captain, R. B. Simpson, playing his first match since he broke a bone in his left wrist in October, was dismissed for 10. New South Wales, chasing South Australia’s massive first innings total 'of 528, were struggling to avoid the follow on at stumps, having lost five wickets for only 178 runs. For South Australia, the former test wicket-keeper, B. A. Jarman, hit 198.
